Humanize AI Text: “What is ChatGPT?”

During their work as online editors and rewriters, the editing experts at Editly have mastered the art of humanizing AI text. In Humanize AI Text with Editly, they draw on their experience to offer a glimpse of the differences between a 100% AI text and a 100% human text. In this post, we take on a topic near and dear to this discussion—ChatGPT.

ChatGPT Text Answer to “What is ChatGPT?”

ChatGPT is a large language model developed by OpenAI, based on the GPT (Generative Pretrained Transformer) architecture. It's designed to generate human-like text based on the input it receives. ChatGPT has been trained on a diverse range of internet text, so it can perform a wide variety of text-based tasks, such as answering questions, writing essays, creating stories, coding, and more. It's part of a series of models that include improvements and updates over time, with capabilities that have grown with each version. The model understands and generates text based on patterns and information it learned during training, although it does not have the ability to browse the internet or access real-time updates. This means it can discuss a wide array of topics up to its last training cut-off in early 2023, providing information, generating creative content, and engaging in conversations based on that knowledge base. Human Rewrite of the ChatGPT Text Response

A large language model developed by OpenAI, ChatGPT is based on GPT (Generative Pretrained Transformer) architecture with the intent of generating human-like text. Trained on a diverse range of internet language, it can perform text-based tasks such as answering questions, writing essays, creating stories, and coding. While its capabilities have grown with each version and it understands and generates text based on patterns and information learned during training, ChatGPT has no ability to browse the internet or access real-time updates. Therefore, it can only discuss topics, provide information, and generate creative content up to its last training cut-off in early 2023. (101 words)

The AI Text vs the Humanized Text

Let’s start with the obvious matter of length. The ChatGPT response is 146 words, while the rewritten version is only 101 words. As they say, brevity is the soul of wit. And, though this topic may not be so funny, it is nonetheless true that brevity increases readability, engagement, and understanding. As the humanized text reduced the word count by almost 31%, it seems to have much more soul indeed. Underneath the math here is the process of eliminating repetition and uniformity of tone and syntax, as well as editing for natural flow by using appropriate connectors and stylistic choices.
